Vote 2025 - Burnaby Central/New Westminster—Burnaby—Maillardville
CPAC’s Laura Di Battista visits two ridings in suburban Vancouver that could change colours for the first time in several elections. In Burnaby Central, NDP leader and incumbent Jagmeet Singh is facing a battle on two fronts, from the Liberal Wade Chang, a lawyer with degrees from Melbourne and Oxford and from the Conservative James Yan, a high-tech executive. In neighbouring New Westminster-Burnaby-Maillardville, the incumbent Peter Julian of the NDP and the MP here since 2004, is up against two political newbies; a real estate agent for the Conservatives, Indy Panchi and from the Liberals, Jake Sawatzky, a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia.
Vote 2025 - Peterborough/Bay of Quinte
CPAC’s Lucy van Oldenbarneveld travels to Central Ontario to report on two ridings that are expected to have close finishes on election night. In Peterborough, the incumbent Conservative and former television anchor Michelle Ferreri is up against political newcomer Liberal Emma Harrison and New Democrat Heather Ray. In Bay of Quinte, another Conservative incumbent Ryan Williams is facing off against a former city councillor and journalist Chris Malette for the Liberals. Kate Crothers is the New Democrat and Eria Charlton is the Green Party candidate.
Vote 2025 - Saskatoon—University/Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River
CPAC’s Rémi Authier reports on the riding of Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River where the departure of the incumbent Conservative Gary Vidal has left the race wide open. Former Saskatchewan Party MLA Jim Lemaigre is running for the Conservatives while another former NDP MLA Buckley Belanger is the Liberal candidate. Doug Racine is the carrying the NDP colours in this riding that has also seen significant changes to its boundaries. In Saskatoon-University , the incumbent and former Saskatchewan Party MLA Corey Tochor is facing off against registered nurse Melissa McGillivray of the NDP and University of Saskatchewan professor Greg Poelzer
Vote 2025 - Cloverdale—Langley City/Abbotsford—South Langley
In Cloverdale-Langley City, the incumbent Conservative Tamara Jansen, who was only elected last December in a by-election, takes on Kyle Latchford, the former assistant to the previous Liberal MP John Aldag. Vanessa Sharma is the New Democrat and Kevin Daniel Wilkie is the candidate for the Green Party. In nearby Abbotsford—South Langley, the incumbent Conservative Ed Fast is no longer running and in his place is 25 year-old blueberry farmer and political newcomer Sukhman Gill, but Gill’s nomination was not made without controversy. In April 2024, the MLA for Abbotsford West, Mike de Jong, announced he was running for the Conservative nomination but last month the party gave the nomination to Gill, and de Jong is now running as an Independent. The Liberal is Kevin Gillies and Dharmasena Yakandawela is the New Democrat. The Green Party’s candidate here is Melissa Snazell.
Vote 2025 - Hamilton Centre/Niagara Falls—Niagara-on-the-Lake
CPAC’s Julie Van Dusen travels to the ridings of Hamilton Centre and Niagara Falls—Niagara-on-the-Lake where two incumbents are facing stiff challenges. In Hamilton Centre, where over 60% of the country’s steel is manufactured, and where American tariffs are causing great anxiety among the voters, the NDP’s Matthew Green is hoping to be elected for a third consecutive time. His main challenger is the Liberal Aslam Rana, an engineer who speaks ten languages. The Conservative is a 27 year-old Hamilton native, Hayden Lawrence. In Niagara Falls--Niagara-on-the-Lake, the incumbent is Conservative Tony Baldinelli, first elected in 2019 and entering his third campaign. His rival is Andrea Kaiser, a Liberal, who ran against Baldinelli in both 2021 and 2019 and is hoping that the third time is the charm. The New Democrat is Shannon Mitchell, a two-time Niagara school board trustee and an assistant with Wayne Gates, the NDP MPP for the area.
Vote 2025 - Repentigny/Beauport—Limoilou
CPAC’s Omayra Issa reports on the ridings of Repentigny, just east of Montreal, and Beauport—Limoilou in Quebec City. In Repentigny, Monique Pauzé, the Bloquiste first elected in 2015, is stepping down and the Bloc has chosen Patrick Bonin to replace her. The former spokesperson Greenpeace is facing a battle against the Liberal Pierre Richard Thomas, a teacher and former director of Lakay, a minority rights advocacy group. Also running here is the Conservtive Charles Champagne, a bus driver with the Société de Transport de Montréal. In Quebec City, in the riding of Beauport—Limoilou, the incumbent Julie Vignola is facing off against Hugo Langlois, the former radio host running for the Conservatives and Liberal Steeve Lavoie, the former head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Quebec. The former MP for Beauport—Limoilou from 2011-2015, Raymond Coté, is representing the NDP.
Vote 2025 - Esquimalt—Saanich—Sooke/Saanich—Gulf Islands
CPAC’s Laura Di Battista reports on two Vancouver Island that could change hands on election day. In Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke, the incumbent Randall Garrison of the NDP has retired and as a result, the three-time mayor of Sooke, Maja Tait is now the NDP candidate. Running for the Liberals is former Alberta NDP cabinet minister in the Rachel Notley government, Stephanie McLean and for the Conservatives, Grant Cool, an aerospace engineer. Ben Homer-Dixon, a 20 year-old geography student at the University of Victoria is the Green Party’s representative. In neighbouring Saanich-Gulf Islands, the co-leader of the Green Party leader, Elizabeth May is facing opposition from Conservative Cathie Ounsted and Liberal David Beckham. Ms May has been the MP here since 2011. Running for the NDP is Saanich Council member, Colin Plant.
Vote 2025 - Fredericton—Oromocto / Saint John—Kennebecasis
CPAC’s Lucy van Oldenbarneveld reports on two ridings in the province of New Brunswick where Conservatives are optimistic that they can pick up some seats in traditional Liberal ridings. In Fredericton–Oromocto, where the incumbent Jenica Atwin decided not to run, the Conservatives have nominated former MLA and member of the military Brian Macdonald to help turn the riding back to Blue for the first time since 2011.The Liberals meanwhile, have brought in singer/songwriter and native son David Myles as their candidate. The New Democrat here is Nicki Lyons-MacFarlane and Pam Allen-Leblanc is the running for the Green Party In Saint John–Kennebecasis, Wayne Long is running again for the Liberal Party. He has held the riding since 2015 and his main challenger is Melissa Young for the Conservative Party, a former executive with Skilled Trades Ontario. The NDP candidate is Armand Cormier and David MacFarquhar, an engineer with a Masters degree in physics is the Green Party’s candidate.
Vote 2025 - Kitchener Centre/Kitchener South—Hespeler
CPAC’s Pam Seatle reports on two ridings to watch in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, an industrial heartland that is seeing some of the highest growth in the country. In 2021. In the riding of Kitchener Centre, Mike Morrice made history when he became the first Green MP elected in Ontario and he is campaigning to ensure that his victory was no fluke. The Liberal is Brian Adeba and Kelly DeRidder is the Conservative. In nearby Kitchener South-Hespeler, Valerie Bradford, the incumbent Liberal is facing a challenge from Conservative Matt Strauss, the former medical officer for Haldimand- Norfolk and New Democrat Lorne Bruce.
Vote 2025 – Eglinton—Lawrence/Toronto—St. Paul's
CPAC’s Julie Van Dusen visits two ridings in Toronto, Eglinton–Lawrence and Toronto–St. Paul’s, where voters are becoming more engaged as the campaign reaches its halfway mark. In Eglinton–Lawrence, the previous Liberal MP Marco Mendicino resigned shortly before the election call to become Mark Carney’s chief of staff and was replaced by Vince Gasparro, who ran provincially in the same riding but was defeated in February. Gasparro’s main rival is the Conservative Karen Stintz, a former city councillor and Toronto Transit Commission chair. Toronto–St.Paul’s was the site of the Liberals' byelection defeat in June of 2024 that precipitated the resignation of Justin Trudeau as prime minister. The winner of that byelection was the Conservative Don Stewart who is facing Leslie Church, the same opponent he had back in June. The New Democrat is Bruce Levy and Shane Philips is the Green Party candidate.
Vote 2025 - Edmonton Centre/Edmonton Griesbach
Journalist Elissa Carpenter looks at the ridings of Edmonton Centre and Edmonton Griesbach. Both seats had close finishes in 2021 and in the case of Edmonton Griesbach there will be a re-match between the incumbent Blake Desjarlais of the NDP and the candidate he defeated in 2021 Kerry Diotte of the Conservatives. The others running here are Patrick Lennox of the Liberals and Michael Hunter of the Green Party. In Edmonton Centre, the incumbent Liberal Randy Boissonault dropped out of the race just before the writ was dropped and he was promptly replaced by lawyer Eleanor Olszewski. Her main competition will be Sayid Ahmed of the Conservatives, who ran provincially under the Alberta United Conservative banner. School trustee and former journalist Trisha Estabrooks is running for the NDP.
Vote 2025 - Mount Royal/LaSalle—Émard—Verdun
CPAC’s Omayra Issa reports on the race in two Montreal ridings. In Mount Royal, a riding that has been targeted by the Conservatives since Stephen Harper was Prime Minister, lawyer Neil Oberman is trying to unseat longtime Liberal MP Anthony Housefather. Also running in the riding are Yegor Komarov of the Bloc and Adam Frank of the New Democrats. In LaSalle—Émard—Verdun, the Bloc Québécois is trying to prove that their fall byelection win was no fluke. Louis-Philippe Sauvé of the Bloc is facing a different Liberal candidate this time with former IBM executive Claude Guay while Craig Sauvé, who finished third to the Bloc last September, is carrying the NDP’s colours.
Vote 2025 - Charlottetown/Cardigan
CPAC’s Lucy van Oldenbarneveld visits Prince Edward Island and reports on two ridings, Cardigan and Charlottetown, where Conservatives have nominated two former Provincial cabinet ministers to run. In Charlottetown, former Education minister Natalie Jameson takes on incumbent Liberal Sean Casey. The others running in the riding are Joe Byrne for the NDP and Daniel Cousins for the Green Party. And in nearby Cardigan outgoing Liberal MP and cabinet minister Lawrence MacAulay cedes his place to Kent MacDonald who will be facing former provincial cabinet minister James Aylward for the Conservatives. Rounding out the other candidates are Lynne Thiele of the NDP and Maria Rodriguez of the Greens
Vote 2025 - Elmwood—Transcona/Winnipeg West
CPAC’s Pam Seatle travels to Manitoba and reports back on two ridings to watch: Winnipeg West and Elmwood—Transcona. In Winnipeg West, voters will see familiar faces on the ballot as incumbent Marty Morantz for the Conservatives will see a familiar foe in Liberal Doug Eyolfson. The NDP is represented by the Avery Selby-Lyons and Dennis Bayoni is the Green candidate. In Elmwood—Transcona, voters will see a rematch of last fall’s byelection between incumbent Leila Dance of the NDP and the Conservative Colin Reynolds. The Liberal is Ian MacIntyre and the Green Party has Nic Geddert as their candidate.
Vote 2025 – Halifax/South Shore—St. Margarets
CPAC’s Lucy van Oldenbarneveld takes a look at two Nova Scotia ridings where the races are expected to be close. In Halifax, Lisa Roberts is running for the NDP and is hoping to turn the riding back to orange after Andy Fillmore held the riding for the Liberals for the past nine years. Fillmore has since moved to municipal politics and it is now up to political newcomer Shannon Miedema to keep the riding Liberal red. The Conservative is Mark Boudreau In South Shore—St. Margarets, the incumbent, Conservative Rick Perkins is facing off against Liberal challenger Jessica Fancy-Landry. Mark Embrett is the Green candidate and the NDP have not nominated a candidate as yet.
Vote 2025 – Compton—Stanstead/Shefford
CPAC’s Omayra Issa travels to Quebec’s Eastern Townships where Bloc incumbent Andréanne Larouche is facing a challenge from Liberal Félix Dionne in the riding of Shefford. And in nearby Compton-Stanstead, where there is no incumbent, Liberal Marianne Dandurand is trying to keep the seat red as she faces off against Nathalie Bresse of the Bloc Québécois and Conservative Jacques Painchaud.
Vote 2025 – Ottawa Centre/Kanata
The Liberals and the NDP square off in the riding of Ottawa Centre, while the Conservatives are hoping to win over the Kanata riding in suburban Ottawa. Candidates running in Ottawa Centre are Paul D’Orsonnens for the Conservatives, Joel Harden for the NDP, Amanda Rosenstock for the Green Party, and Yasir Naqvi for the liberals. In Kanata, Greg Kung is the Conservative candidate, Jennifer Purdy is the Green Party candidate, and Jenna Sudds is the Liberal candidate.
